ProNet Security Solutions is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed 681 and 2050. Underwriters Laboratories is a nationally recognized testing laboratory that provides consensus-based standards. In the case of security systems and monitoring, most UL standards are created under American National Standards Institute guidelines before issuance.

The basis of a UL listing for a central station means the station and the services it provides have been evaluated for compliance with the applicable UL standards. UL 681 describes installation of alarm equipment at the protected property and requires UL site visits to the central station and protected properties as well as service tests to ensure comprehensive delivery of services.

UL 2050 is the standard the security industry must follow to service U.S. federal government facilities. The UL 2050 designation indicates that the company has met an additional set of strict requirements and that it has personnel on duty who are specially trained to handle signals received from National Industrial Security Systems – systems used by the United States Department of Defense and other high-level government agencies.

Many monitoring stations who seek the UL 2050 find it difficult to obtain, as it requires additional expenses to implement new training programs and procedures to meet the requirements.
